Loki Season 3 What We Know So Far

In June 2021 Loki season 1 premiered in Disney+ and after 2 years season 2 came out in October 2023. Many of the fans believe that season 3 will probably be released in 2025 after a 2 year gap like season 2. But the problem is an accurate storyline was set for the Loki series to be built. That story was great and little big enough to cover the whole story in a single season. So Marvel divided the story into two seasons which are season 1 and 2.

Loki’s other Appearances

All though Loki series came out in 2021 but his first appearance was as the main villain in 2011 in Thor first movie. He was also the main villain of The Avengers. His next appearance was in Thor The Dark World. In Thor Ragnarok there was Loki too. He was also in Avengers Infinity War and Avengers Endgame. Loki was also in Marvel animation series What If season 1 and season 2.

Loki Season 3 Expectations

When season 1 ended there was a clear hint that the story was incomplete because it was just the first part of the story. But when season 2 ended it was clearly the end of that particular story. And everyone has to agree that what a series it had been through these two seasons. So Marvel needs a totally new story to run season 3. So they need a great relatable story again to build season 3 because the story of season 1 and 2 was very well written which made the expectation of the Loki series very high.

Marvel‘s Issues With Loki Season 3

So Marvel just can not pick any story and start shooting season 3. They now need a valid great story to fit into the Marvel phase 5 or Marvel phase 6 timeline. Because we know almost every movie and series are connected in the Marvel cinematic universe and a lot of projects are going on in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Those projects including movies, serieses and animations have a timeline of the connected storyline. So not only will a great story be enough for Loki season 3. It also has to connect and fit into the current phase of Marvel.

Marvel‘s Time Travel and Multiverse Plot

Because the Loki series is totally based on time travel and Multiverse, understanding this plot is very important. From the beginning of Marvel Phase 4 there is a major plot set for time travel and Multiverse. It has been running since then. Maybe it will finish at the end of Marvel Phase 6 with Avengers Secret Wars. There is another Avengers movie before Avengers Secret Wars. That movie is Avengers: The Kang Dynasty

The character Kang was first introduced to us by Loki series season 1. Kang is a Godlike being for this plot of time travel and Multiverse. So he is very important for this current running plot of Marvel. Because the Loki series is also based on this plot, Kang is also very important for season 3 of Loki to happen. So the movie Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will be a major plot for time travel and Multiverse. Also it will directly connect to the series Loki. So the season should happen before Avengers Secret Wars.

Loki Season 3 Possibilities

Character Loki is holding the multiverse at the end of Loki season 2. Marvel’s plot is about time travel and the Multiverse at least until Avengers Secret Wars will happen. So Loki will appear for sure in  Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Because Loki is directly connected to Kang. There is a confusion about the plot that maybe Marvel will appear Loki in just Avengers movies and complete the plot or Marvel will make season 3 of Loki. Whatever Marvel will do Loki still has a major role to play in upcoming events. Another major point is that the Loki series has a huge fandom. Loki’s character still has things to do yet and fans want more seasons badly so there is a major chance season 3 will happen.

Marvel‘s Plan for Season 3

Marvel still does not publish anything about Loki season 3. They are focusing on other projects now. On the behalf of Marvel they talked about the reasons behind why they made the series Loki in the first place. The script was great and perfectly connected to the plot. Also the story had a great way to introduce Kang, the next super villain of Marvel after Thanos. The reasons for making the Loki series served the purpose of it. First Loki was a huge success as a series. One of the greatest series of all time for Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Then Marvel makes people understand what time travel is and the Multiverse. They even reveal the character Kang and his purpose for upcoming events. They actually make the Multiverse happen in the Loki series. In this series Marvel makes Loki from a villain who does not care about anything to a God who cares about all the lives of the multiverse. Loki even sacrifices himself to protect the Multiverse and that makes a huge fan base of Loki. So fans want season 3 to happen but Marvel did not plan it when they started making the series because they did not think that it would be a success like this. So Marvel wants to take their time to do it. Marvel told fans that Loki is our version of Breaking Bad. Because of this they do not want to waste the reputation of Loki just to make another season quickly. So maybe there will be Loki season 3 but Marvel does not want to make it without a proper vision.
